Boston, Mass., July 12, 2016 Global Rescue, the leading provider of integrated medical, security, intelligence, travel risk, crisis management and travel insurance services to enterprises, governments and individuals, announced its continued partnership with Soccer Without Borders (SWB), an organization using soccer as a platform for positive change and personal growth with under-served youth.

Soccer Without Borders was recently named the winner of the prestigious 2016 Barry & Marie Lipman Family Prize, an annual global prize from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania focused on identifying and promoting game-changing ideas that solve social problems. Chosen from more than 170 applicants around the globe, SWB was awarded $250,000 and highlighted as a “small-but-mighty social change organization.”

Through the partnership, Global Rescue provides Soccer Without Borders with access to critical medical, security, and intelligence resources in the event of a medical or security emergency.

“Soccer Without Borders is an inspirational organization that reflects the power of sport to bridge gaps,” said Global Rescue CEO Dan Richards. “We are honored to continue to provide support to this pioneering organization.”

Best known for its work in social integration and gender equity, SWB aims to build a more inclusive world through soccer. Through a team-based, holistic model, SWB takes an innovative approach to converting the uniting power of the sport into meaningful opportunities for youth living in some of the world’s most challenging urban areas.

“Our relationship with Global Rescue provides much-needed medical and security support for our people, who have worked in 10 countries and four continents,” said Mary McVeigh, former professional soccer player and Co-Founder and Executive Director of Soccer Without Borders. “With Global Rescue, we’re assured of life-saving help if something goes wrong anywhere the world.”
